Specialisation: The Heart of Differentiation

Differentiation is an enduring challenge for all businesses, no matter the industry, but perhaps nowhere is the issue felt so keenly as it is in the consulting industry. Indeed, research we’ve carried out over the last five years goes as far as to suggest a convergence within the market, and clients have told us time and time again that they struggle to tell the difference between one firm and its peers. This is particularly important for those firms looking for outside investment or that wish to be bought as evidence of differentiation is often the difference between success and failure.
