A co-Founder and Director of Source, Fiona is one of the world's leading commentators on the management consulting industry. Since founding Source in 2008, she has been bringing this expertise to bear on our clients’ most pressing strategic projects and business issues.
Fiona has published a dozen books on consulting topics, including two for The Economist: Business Consulting: A Guide to How it Works and How to Make it Work and Buying Professional Services. She has more than 20 years’ experience as a management consultant, working primarily in the areas of marketing and strategy. She was previously in charge of strategic planning for EY in the UK and has worked in the consulting practice of PwC. Fiona also has a PhD in 17th century French art and lives in hope that it will be of practical use in business someday.
Ed is a Director of Source, and he is particularly focused on HR, strategic marketing, and new product development. He is a key member of the Source research team and spends much of his time interviewing consultants and their clients around the world in order to identify and explore major market trends.
Ed regularly speaks about the consulting market to leadership teams around the world, has lectured at Columbia University (New York), Imperial College (London), and Vrije Universiteit (Amsterdam), and he is regularly quoted by media including the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the Financial Times, Bloomberg, and the trade press. Prior to joining Source in 2008, Ed spent seven years in various marketing roles for Sony Europe.
Julie joined Source in March 2010 and is now our operations supremo, in charge of overseeing the delivery of our research programme, allocating resource for projects, and implementing plans that help us to do things faster, smarter or better. Prior to joining Source, Julie worked at the Institute of Business Consulting (IBC), where she worked with both consulting firms and clients as the Commercial Activities Manager. Before that she spent time in Amman, Jordan with the European Jordanian Advanced Business Institute, as their Program Manager.
Rachel is Source’s Head of Thought Leadership Strategies and Solutions and is the consulting industry’s leading expert on producing high-quality thought leadership. She has dedicated her time at Source to developing a thought leadership benchmarking framework that has become the industry standard, and she works closely with the world’s leading consulting firms to help them deliver high-impact content. Rachel is responsible for Source’s web-based White Space platform, which lists more than 40,000 pieces of thought leadership and is a vital resource for anyone who writes, researches, or manages thought leadership.
Rachel brings to Source more than 10 years’ experience as a management consultant, having worked on strategic and operational projects across sectors, including financial services, life sciences, public sector, not-for-profit, and manufacturing. Always keen to learn more, she has an MBA and an MA in Education from Stanford, an MEng in Engineering, Economics, and Management from Oxford, and an MA in Counselling.
Aydan joined Source as a Product Developer in January 2017. Proficient in many scripting languages, Aydan is working alongside our Technology Lead to revolutionise Source’s internal IT systems and processes. Aydan’s experience spans the real estate, recruitment and gaming sectors. As a self-professed lover of all things technology, Aydan spends most of his spare time doing the kind of thing he does at the office, as well as working on the odd start-up and attending conferences. And if you ever happen to find yourself in a superbly managed Bulgarian supermarket, you most probably have Aydan to thank, since he created the software that the majority of them use.
Heather is an Analyst at Source with oversight of copyediting and publication quality control, managing internal and external proofreaders to ensure all reports are written to the highest standard. Prior to joining Source in 2015, Heather was Assistant Editor of the UK’s oldest literature and arts journal, The London Magazine. She has a degree in English Studies from The University of Nottingham and is author of a book of poems.
Charis is an Account Manager at Source, and has global responsibility for managing our relationships with some of the world's biggest professional services firms. In that capacity, she spends much of her time working with industry leaders, helping them to understand and anticipate trends in the market place, facilitating their access to our analysts and our research, and working with them to meet their evolving research needs. Charis joined Source in 2014, after studying Geography at the University of Sheffield, and spends her rapidly-diminishing spare time rowing gig boats around the coastline of Britain.
Alastair is a Senior Analyst at Source, specialising in the Consulting Market Trends area of the business. His responsibilities include interviewing senior consultants and clients, analysing data, writing reports, and presenting research to clients. Alastair has also championed the development Source's philanthropic activities; encouraging the team to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Prior to joining Source, Alastair was a management consultant with PwC, working on a multitude of projects across a number of different industries and service lines.
Rachel is a Senior Analyst at Source specialising in work on market sizing and the competitive landscape within the professional services industry. Rachel combines deep industry knowledge with her project management capability to competently deliver many of Source’s custom projects and published reports.
Prior to joining Source Rachel worked in the Deloitte consulting practice gaining cross-sector experience, working in the UK, Australasia, and the Middle East.
Edward has both a BA and Masters in Classics from Magdalen College, Oxford and has worked for Source since 2013 as a general researcher. In his other life, he’s a professional singer, and has toured the USA, France and Gran Canaria.
Joe is Product Manager for Source's Global Consulting Data Model. He's responsible for the development and implementation of the model, which serves as the backbone for much of what we do. The model generates our market size numbers and contributes to our industry forecasts, and it forms a critical component of Source’s custom competitor profiles.
An experienced quantitative analyst with an MSc in Organisational Consulting, Joe has previously worked in technical and analytic roles for Ashridge Business School and BPP University.
Alison is the Head of Client & Brand Insights at Source. She is responsible for all the reports we write on this subject, and leads many of the bespoke projects we deliver in this area. She’s an experienced writer, analyst, and interviewer, and has worked on bespoke projects around brand benchmarking, helping consulting firms to understand how they are perceived in the market, and what they can do to improve perceptions. Alison earned her stripes as a consultant at Deloitte, working on a wide range of projects across many industries.
Ella-Sian is responsible for all forms of marketing at Source, including the running of our many events around the world. Ella led the company’s re-brand in January 2016 and works to ensure the consistency of that brand across the breadth of products and services that Source offers. She joined Source in 2014 after obtaining a first class degree in French and Business.
Iveta previously worked as an Analyst at The Risk Advisory Group, covering both business intelligence and political risk. Prior to that, amongst other roles, she worked at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo, analysing political and economic developments during the Arab Spring, and had the opportunity to oversee the first post-Mubarak elections. Iveta has also been involved with work for various charity organisations such as Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) and received the 2013 UPF award for her work towards the improvement of women and children’s rights in Africa.
Despite studying engineering and then law, Alexander has found solace in the workings of web-based technologies, and since January 2015 has overseen the development and running of Source's active products.
Alice is an Account Manager at Source and looks after the relationship with some of the largest professional services firms around the world. She works with consulting leaders and marketing teams to help them identify and source the right research to support their strategic goals and growth plans, and ensures the distribution of our research across their businesses. Alice joined Source in 2011 and is a linguistic-enthusiast: in addition to French, her mother tongue, Alice speaks English, Spanish, and a fair amount of Italian. She holds a Master’s degree in International Business and worked in Madrid, Spain, before joining Source.
Ashok is a writer and editor at Source, contributing to our Consulting Market Programme and Client Perception Programme reports. Prior to joining Source, he was an editor and a consultant in the commodities market, and he also brings experience from the UK automotive sector.
Jerry came to Source in 2011 following his retirement from a career in the insurance industry. Jerry began his career working in IT in 1961 and for the next forty years he served as a Programmer, Systems Analyst, IT manager, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. He established, grew, and sold two companies and rescued two others from near bankruptcy. He was a Corporate Director for over twenty years and has experience in the USA, UK, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Jordan, Hong Kong and Australia.
Laura is Source’s first ever Human Resources Manager. She makes sure the company applies best practice in all areas of HR, ensuring that we have a positive working environment where team members share the same values and work towards the same goals, and making the company as attractive as possible to potential recruits. Prior to joining the Source adventure in November 2015 Laura was working for the French Embassy in Mexico.
An accomplished writer and editor, B.J. has provided strategic communications for a U.S. Senator, three presidents of Harvard University, a prominent American civil liberties advocacy group, and international law and consulting firms. She earned her juris doctorate from the University of Georgia and is a member of the Georgia bar.
Stéphanie joined the team in May 2012. Following a Degree in Marketing Communications in Brussels, Stéphanie worked in several B2B advertising agencies as Account Manager, then turned to business research after a spell in the business travel industry. She is half French and speaks English, French and German fluently.
Lindsay joined Source in March 2017 after graduating from the University of East Anglia complete with a Masters in Modern British History. She manages the diaries of both Directors and the day-to-day administrative requirements of the wider Source team and office. Lindsay also coordinates all of the many hundreds of interviews we conduct for our publication schedule of reports.
Zoë is Head of Consulting Market Trends at Source and is responsible for all reports published as part of the Consulting Market Programme. A world-leading expert on consulting trends, she is the driver behind Source’s bespoke analysis of consulting’s biggest geographical and industry markets. She is an active member of the Source research team and spends much of her time interviewing consultants and their clients all over the world, collecting their first-hand accounts of what is happening in the consulting world. She also brings extensive experience as an analyst and writer to her post.
Prior to joining Source, Zoë spent more than 12 years working as a management consultant in a variety of roles with KPMG and Atos Consulting. She has also worked as an independent marketing consultant.
Polly joined the team at the end of 2015, bringing a professional background in financial services which includes Barclays (commercial and retail banking), Barclays Capital (where she ran the organisational design workstream of an Accenture-led project), and the Association for Payment Clearing Services (interbank payments). Her specialisms within financial services include organisational design, strategy and transformation. In addition to her professional life, Polly has studied environmental decision-making and has applied these skills - pro bono - within several environmental contexts.
