Aurelija shares her insights on these matters and more:
- At Vinted, Aurelija says that innovation is rooted in problem solving, not just feature building. The team process starts with identifying and deeply understanding a core problem by asking, “What are we trying to fix?”
- Innovation isn’t just about creating; it’s also about stopping what doesn’t work. It is crucial that teams strategically and regularly decide which features or initiatives to continue or discontinue.
- Measurement should guide, not stifle, innovation. Rather than tracking the number of innovations, Aurelija advocates using outcome-based metrics to encourage teams to experiment and learn.
- Customer experience (CX) is central, even for backend systems. For example, the Trust & Safety team works behind the scenes to make sure that all restrictions, messages, and policies are transparent and feel natural, not robotic, to the user.
